Umberto founded OpenTabs while studying at university with the goal of redesigning the internet for social impact and improving the world in a sustainable way. He developed a passion for sustainable development after growing up around the world in countries including Sudan, North Korea, Zimbabwe, and Malawi.

Jorge Appiah is a Technoprenuer and Africa Tech-Policy Expert with a background in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (BSc), Business Administration (MBA) and Renewable energy (MSc).
He is the CEO/Cofounder of SolarTaxi Ghana which is championing affordable clean transportation to
facilitate free movement of Africans through the local assembling and manufacturing of Solar vehicles.
SolarTaxi is a scaled-up project from Mastercard Foundation innovation grant and working to scale
green transportation for green jobs in Africa over the next 10 years.

Abraham Bugre is a climate change activist and researcher who is passionate about the SDGs. He is a Ph.D candidate at the University of Ghana, and a Queen Elizabeth Scholar with Carleton University and University of Regina both in Canada. He is the Partnership and External Engagement Officer at Green Africa Youth Organization, leading on partnerships for the implementation of the Youth Climate Council Ghana. As a member of the the UNFCCC Youth Constituency, Abraham is a West & Southern Africa Regional Coordinator for COY16 and a member of the coalition developing the Global Youth Statement on Nature-based Solutions.

A geoscientist with interests in glaciology, geohazards and the geomorphology of mountain environments. Much of his works focuses on understanding the mechanisms that shape landscapes (including glacial, fluvial and mass movement processes), as well as the response of glacial environments to climate change, including geohazards and risks posed by deglaciation (e.g. glacial outburst floods, landslides and water resource issues).

Sanne Abayomi is an organisational psychologist and the founder of Sanrise Coaching. Through her personal and professional experiences, as well as her passion for psychology, it is Sanne’s mission to better the mental health of others. Furthermore, through her international experience, having lived in multiple countries and having parents from two different cultures, makes Sanne highly open to different cultures and portrays her other passion: travelling.

Sascha Anna Vriend has worked in various hospitals and private institutions providing psychological support to people of all ages, as well as their families and caretakers. Her clinical experience includes helping people with personality disorders, handicaps, neurological and health issues (cognitive impairments, brain injuries, chronic and acute illness), language disorders, learning difficulties, and emotional and behavioural problems (anxiety, depression, eating disorders, relational disorders, loss, trauma). She is passionate about sports and the expressive arts, and the link between psychological, physical and spiritual health.

Isabella has been involved in several development projects in Venezuela and Spain, focusing on access to quality education, financial inclusion, and community empowerment.

She considers education to be the best tool to fight inequalities and is a firm believer that through the power of communities and individuals we can overcome the challenges that impede the advancement of society.

She was Project Manager for the Kolu’s Moon project in collaboration with the IE African Center and the IE Human, Science and Technology School, to support the work of the Liberian organization Community Healthcare INC. in their fight against period poverty and school dropout rates amongst Liberian girls.

After graduating with a degree in Communication and Digital Media, she worked as Project and Communication Manager at United Way Spain implementing educational projects for underserved communities in the country.

Isabella is currently pursuing a Master’s in International Development at IE University.

I am 26 years old, I am half Italian and half Latvian but growing up in an international environment makes me feel more like a global citizen. I speak 4 languages and would love to learn more!

After graduating from UWC Adriatic in Italy, I studied general Psychology in Spain, spending my exchange semester in Austin, Texas, and then I got my Masters degree in Clinical Psychology in the Netherlands at Utrecht University. I am fascinated by human minds and I chose to study Psychology because I believe that humans are very intelligent creatures but they do very stupid things, like destroy each other and their planet.

Due to the pandemic, I had to improvise a little bit and I ended up in my second home, in Latvia, working as a TA in an international school. Now I am in Vietnam, working as a middle school socio-emotional counsellor, in an international school. I hope to work as a psychotherapist one day. In my free time, I enjoy cuddling my cat, reading sci-fi novels, watching films but most importantly spending time in Nature.

Helena Oettingen is the Co-Founder and CEO of Metta Space, a B2B platform that helps companies tackle sexual harassment. Helena is German, but grew up in Italy her whole life. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations at the IE School of Global and Public Affairs in Madrid, Spain, and continued her studies at the IE School of Human Sciences and Technology by studying for a Master’s Degree in Cybersecurity. Through Metta Space, Helena hopes to push trust and transparency to the forefront of employee and company relationships through better privacy and communication.

Vanessa is a global public health professional with about five years of experience providing high impact development, technical assistance, data evaluation, and program implementation services to Non-profit organizations working to improve the health and wellness of young adults, women and children. Her desire is to continue to contribute to the enhancement of the lives of people that lack access to healthcare and/or the proper resources or education to live healthy fulfilling lives. She currently serves as the Program Manager in Nigeria for an organization called World Connect.

Amoateng is the CEO of Platinum Networks, which produces a television series she hosts, Restoration. She is the Executive Director of Emklan Media, a content management, and multimedia production firm. She is the founder of Showbiz Honours, an awards scheme for celebrities who give back to the society, and The Restoration With Stacy Foundation, which gives focus to empowering women and young girls with a campaign called The Luv Project. The Luv Project gives support to women and girls going through various forms of abuse. She raised Ghc 40,000.00 for plastic surgery for a woman whose partner poured acid on her. She supports needy children in school, gives accommodation to single mothers and counsels young girls on how to be empowered and live their dreams to the fullest. She does these by touring schools and having sessions with the students.

Regina Honu is the CEO of Soronko Academy, a leading technology, coding, and digital skills development center in Africa, pioneering the way for young people especially women and girls to realize their economic potential equipping them with the technical and soft skills they need to attain dignified, fulfilling jobs and overcome the gender gap in technology. The academy which is the first coding and human-centered design academy in West Africa has trained over 20,000 women & girls and has expanded to train boys, men, and children with disabilities. Regina was recently named on the 2021 Quartz Africa Innovators Africa Innovators List: a dynamic group of over two dozen women from 12 countries and 15 sectors whose work dispels the myth that women are primarily focused on social sectors as opposed to areas that drive economies. She was awarded as an Innovation Ecosystem Game Changer in Digital Literacy by the Ghana Digital Innovation Week under the auspices of the Office of the Vice President and partners.She has been appointed as a Leadership Champion and Observer to the Governing Committee of the Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative (We-Fi) at the World Bank.We-Fi is a collaborative partnership among 14 governments, eight multilateral development banks (MDBs), and other public and private sector stakeholders, hosted by the World Bank Group. They seek to address financial and non-financial constraints faced by women-owned/led small and medium enterprises in developing countries.

MacCarthy is a young Entrepreneur who oversees 54 startups since2013 and has founded HOPin Academy, one of the top 10 Hubs inGhana in Tamale, northern Ghana to serve the entrepreneurial and startup scene in Ghana, precisely Northern Ghana. He serves on the Executive Board of the Ghana Hubs Network which has over50 hubs network members in 10 regions of Ghana and also as theCommunications Director, he also server of a number of Boards globally. MacCarthy has left a footprint by providing direct employment and entrepreneurial training opportunities to hundreds of youths around the country. His strong will and commitment to seeing society abetter place are evident in the numerous opportunities he has provided for himself and countless youths. He is also the founder of HOPin Tech Solutions, M&Mxpress Travel, and Tour, and AgriTransportas all of which provides unique solutions and employs innovative approaches towards identifying and solving pertinent societal problemsHe advises on Entrepreneurship policies to the Ghanaian government and other stakeholders and policy influencers in Ghana,Mostly working with the Ministry for Business Development now under the Ministry of Trade and Industry in the country. He travels a lot to both African and European nations to network, dialogue, learn and advise on entrepreneurship, business, technological inclusion, and the growing innovation.
